I met Rachyl in 2019 after she gave me the digital nod on Bumble, a dating app. I knew that Rachyl was out of my league, so I tried to play it cool. After a few weeks of getting to know each other via texting she agreed to meet up for a burger and beer after work at a downtown San Diego brew pub close to both of our workplaces. It was an instant connection. There was only one problem... Rachyl let me know that she had plans to move back to the High Desert in the coming weeks. I knew I couldn't let this one get away. For a couple of months, we traded off making a three hour drive to see each other on the weekends. After some time, Rachyl was ready to give San Diego another shot; meaning she just moved in with me while pretending to 'apartment hunt.' After a few months, I realized she had no intention of moving out. I jokingly say she bamboozled me, but I also had no intention of her moving out. So we moved her & Sadie in full-time to my 500 square foot condo. Since then we've been inseparable. We found shared interests in spending time at the zoo (a bar with animals), going to baseball games, weekend adventures with Sadie, and enjoying sunny San Diego together. Fast forward a couple of years to September 2023 and I popped the question to Rachyl while on vacation in Chicago. She should've seen it coming since I invited my entire family on our short weekend excursion. For some reason, Rachyl (wisely) said yes, and now we are so excited to have you all share the start of the rest of our lives together.

1) I am not out of John's league-he's quite the catch.

4) I had a feeling he was going to propose when all of a sudden his parents & both brothers were now coming on our trip.
